2000-07-31 - 18:13:09 BotCon 'n' Stuff Well, let's start off with the entry that I tried to upload last night. (Hey, we all have server glitches now and then. I'm not complaining, it was just frustraiting). Greetings! Salutations! How's everyone doing tonight? I'm back from the 'Con. I had a GREAT time. How about you? Well, OK, so a lot of you probably weren't AT the Con. But if by chance you were, wasn't that COOL?? Please try not to become afraid. The author of this page is merely a bit... enthusiastic about her little trip. Bear with it, and in time perhaps it will be come more... manageable. The movie was GREAT on a big screen. The Voice Actors were SO very cool. The only two bad things the whole trip were when the speedometer in my car died, and the terror upon first meeting she who will henceforth be known as Beast Wars Ninja. OK, so she really wasn't that bad. But we rather agreed that if the poor chick would just go get laid or something, maybe she'd be less scary. (You almost had to be there to understand folks.) I spent argueably too much money on toys. While I won't admit as much, I will say that I won't be buying anything frivolous for a while. Thing is, I got the stuff cheaper then I expected, and I ended up with some stuff I've wanted for quite a while now. So it's all well and good. Heck, I have a Tarantulas now! And a BA, and a Quickstrike! And a real Rattrap!! (and a Wal-Mart Rattrap, who the real Rattrap will be kicking the slag out of just as soon as I've depackaged them both.) I... er... I know there was more I was going to put up here... The exclusive toys are cool. (Shokaract SO much more so then Apelinq) And... I'm just very wound up now. At the showing of the film, it seemed as though there was a cheering (and booing) section for virtually every character. (Although nobody booed or cheered against the Dinobots. (as it should be. Grimlock COOL!)) There were even a few other folks in the Unicron clapping section. The applause when Prime died was just a bit too in bad taste, if you ask me. I mean, did they WANT to end up with Roddimus Prime or something? (OK, so that was my sarcastic reason. The real reason is that Prime died a noble death, fighting for a cause that he believed in, and also for the 'bots under his comand. For anybody who is *gasp* only really familliar with BW/BM, I could only say unto them, "Dinobot's death was only a pale shadow of the event that was this great hero being felled." Sorry if I've dissuaded any belief that I always root for all the badguys or something.) Uhm... Uhm... OK, OK. So my brain is just a little too full right now to remember everything. I'm sure I'll remember more tomorrow. Or at least I hope I do. In either case, uhm... I'm just going to bore everyone to death if I keep talking about BotCon. So I'll stop. (for now...) OK, and now for today's sparkling entry. Well, in spite of the little glitchiness on this site last night, and staying up too late, followed by sleeping too much, I'm still alive, kicking, and in a great mood. I thought of another coolthing from BotCon (and this is mentioned mostly because Fruzer will think it as cool as I [ok, probably more so]): In the art contest, there were LEGO sculptures of some 'bots. The one that carried best was Kickback, although all three insecticons looked better then the other bots. But it was neat to see how well Legos could be built into real bots. (real? OK, you know what I mean...) My new toys are now happily out of their boxes. Yay! Fresh air! I'm going to have to clean my end of the computer room though; I don't have room for everybody any more. *sigh* Oh well. It's all in good fun, right? Yes ladies and gentlemen, our intrepid author went three-for-three! Three Arachnoid figures taken out of their boxes -- Three Arachnoid figures that suffered the temporary loss of a limb eithr while being de-packaged or while being transformed for the first time! Ahem. We now return you to your regularly scheduled update. So... yeah... I have to go and pick up dinner (which also doubles as lunch. Ha! You thought that part of the diary title was just a joke, didn't you?), I might add more later. I don't know yet. In any case, my General Tso's Chicken is even now waiting for me at the take-out place...
