Live from Comfort Inn?

Right, so, we'll try this from work. (Er, in case you missed it, my sad little attempt at a FRFF entry was made, and should be the previous howl from this one.)

By "from work" I mean from the lobby of the hotel. Limited timeframe I'm workin' under here, y'know? So if I seem cut off, I probably have been by the lady at the front desk.

Anyway, I wanted to talk about my odd weekend. (And what an odd weekend it was. Truely.)

I'm still trying to work out if it was just a weird weekend on my end as well as the world's, or if I was trying to proove I'm still me -- or that I'm someone else, as the case may be.

Anyway, I went out two nights for kareoke -- which I have to stop doing. I drank too damned much, and I smoked way too goddamned much. But so the weirdness.

Friday night I'd intended to try to find my cousin Nichole -- she's cool, and anyway I really want to set up time to hang out with and talk to her one-on-one. Long story you probably don't care about. Anyway, I ended up at Oak's Cafe (which is actually a bar that has great pizza) in town. They were having Kareoke. OK, so that's not the odd.

The Odd was the rather drunken fellow who was all but hitting on me. Kept telling me my singing was amazing. Bought me a drink. (I didn't mind that part.) Dragged me out on the dance floor twice. I do not dance well. However, I look better when keeping pace with a drunken partner.

It was weird. People do not even "practically" hit on me. It does not happen.

Then on Saturday night, I went to see Scott play at Amici. (He's a guy who does open mike night about as often as Josh does -- great singer) While I was there, I was chatting with Lynne (Not sure if that's the proper spelling of her name or not) -- she starts talking up this guy she really thinks I ought to meet. Went so far as to ask if I minded set-ups, but did not actually ask if she should try to set me up with him. I'm not sure if that's a good sign or a bad sign, but it just felt like the oddness of the weekend continuing.

Then last night, an ex of mine up and messages me. No, it's not as odd as you think -- we were friends before we tried the going out thing, and we were friends afterward. Sort of lost touch around when he got married. *shrug* So it was weird but cool to be talking to him again.

It's almost good to be back at work -- despite the mind-meltyness of having internet access here. I needed the "normal" after that weekend.

The distraction was nice, though. I've all but decided to categorically not try to sort out a few things on my mind lately, and so it was nice to at least not realize I was thinking about them, even if I probably was.

*shrug* Such's the way with me, I guess. Anyway, I'm sure I've run over the posted time limit for sessions on this terminal, so I ought to leave it at that.

Man, internet on a working Monday night. This is so killer keen. *grin*
