Whistling in the Dark

OK, so I think the last time I talked about fanfic and song lyrics at the same time, it was when I found the song "When You're Evil" by reading a very funny Digimon fic that actually wasn't a fic, and attempted to remedy that by having a scene of Ken singing the aforementioned song.

And I feel very silly saying that, as it's a very silly thing to have to admit to. (Even with the case being that it's on record anyway as that really was part of an entry I made seemingly ages ago.)

Anyway, reading CSI fanfic lately -- I'm suddenly into deep throes of being focused on that show. Must be a Geek Love thing. (Long story that would involve going into the pairing I'm rooting for -- which supposedly will become at least partly show-official this year, and I'm getting all off-topic.

I avoid songfic like the plauge, and I haven't broken that -- this fic just happens to have some ambient soundtrack via mentioned radio songs. (That's somehow the most clear phrasing I can think of. Hopefully you follow - if indeed you haven't run screaming or shaking your head after I used the word "fanfic.") Anyway, one song mentioned is a song I haven't heard in a long time, but that I'd forgotten how much I liked. Sort of song I connect with, but as it hasn't been on the radio in ages I'd lost touch with, if that makes sense of any sort.

If I don't loose you when I admit it's a country song, I'm gonna post lyrics, thereby making this entry a complete cop-out. (Oh, except I'll use this parenthetical statement to say that the Ren-thingy was great -- though my legs hurt because I haven't worn those boots in over a year -- Kill Bill was great fun, and I'm just generally glad to have been able to spend a whole day with my best friend again.)

Song is "You Move Me" -- Garth Brooks, off the album "Sevens"

This is how it seems to me
Life is only therapy
Real expensive
And no guarantee

So I lie here on the couch
With my heart hanging out
Frozen solid with fear
Like a rock in the ground

But you move me
You give me courage I didn't know I had
You move me
I can't go with you
And stay where I am
So you move me

This is how love was to me
I could look and not see
Going through the emotions
Not knowing what they mean

And it scared me so much
That I just wouldn't budge
I might have stayed there forever
If not for your touch>

Oh but you move me
Out of myself and into the fire
You move me
Now I'm burning with love
And with hope and desire
How you move me

You go whistling in the dark
Making light of it
Making light of it
And I follow with my heart
Laughing all the way

Oh 'cause you move me
You get me dancing and you make me sing
You move me
Now I'm taking delight
In every little thing
How you move me

OK. Now that I've annoyed at least some of the people who read this... (That's what, two of all three of you?)

Hmm, yeah. That's it. Really no point to the entry other than transcribed song lyrics.

Oh well. Back to reading.
