Please Don't Take Our Picture...

Alright. So I might not quite be justified in saying it's been a bad day. I've had some terribly terribly bad days in my time, and this doesn't rate much next to them.

Of course, lately (other than terribly long work days) I've been having such a string of good days, that it doesn't take much of a bobble to seem bad in comparision.

Maybe this is why I used to think so many other people where whining an aweful lot. *chuckle*

Anyway, the summery of why it's been bad is pretty much that I woke up with a headache - not a bad one. I got up earlier than I'd planned, because I went to sleep earlier than I'd figured I would. I missed a txt msg that I feel very bad about missing, since I probably made someone else's bad early afternoon worse. Or at least I didn't have a chance to try to make it better. And the network here in the house has been flakey on me - I've had to reboot to get my connection back three or four times, and I'm now having a problem with two files I'd been trying to transfer when it went kerflooey.

And it's storming. Ok, I like it when it's storming, provided the power doesn't go out, and I can see to drive. And it's going to be slightly iffy about the driving, since it still seems to be storming a little, and I want to get on the road for Findlay in about a half hour here. But I have power still, so yay, I guess.

On to news that is not me whining. *chuckle*

Got my hair cut yesterday. It's now 14 inches or so shorter - right around shoulder-length, possibly a bit less than that. Still long enough to tie back. For Fruheads reading, there's a pic up on my FHDC profile. (Taken with, of all things, my phone. I figured out how to do self-shots with it. I imagine unless I have a good costume for Halloween, that will be the last shot for a very long while I take of myself. Although it didn't turn out too bad.)

I'm liking it. Miss the length when I run a hand through it, but it's (as always when I chop it) much easier to take care of now. And I'll have a simplified task of tick-check nights after work.

Yes, it's time for tick-checks again. Found one of the little fuckers on my shirt the last night after work this week. *sigh* I hate ticks. And now I'm whining again.

This weekend... *grin* I have to pack. Not going to be much time for packing after I get home Wednesday night, and I don't want to get up early enough to rush around packing on Thursday morning before I go to the airport. Less than a week!

I also want to clean up my space a little - always less crappy to come home from a good trip (and I hope this will be an excellent trip indeed) to space that's not quite so overflowing with junk that's actually junk.

I've just got one more week of work to get through before I get to go see Anne again. 40 hours in 3 days. It's a hell of a way to do a work week, but it'll be more than worth it. It's more than worth any hardship for this opportunity to spend time with her.

Hmm... house-shaking rumbles of thunder. Awesome, but also perhaps a cue that I ought to shut the computer down when I leave.

Missed OMN last week, and will (obviously) miss it again this coming week. Going to be very good to get out, see the Woodwards and the Amici crew, listen to some nice live music, suck down a few lovely coffee drinks...

Yeah. Clear my head, get out, relax a bit. Get over what feels like a bad day.

After all, the picture's a good one. Just a little static filled at the moment.

It'll work itself out ok.

And I've got less than a week. If nothing else, that makes it all look brighter.
